Ford's electric car to be available in 2011 - some good news in the auto world

Did you know that Ford has a "ready made" electric car that will go on sale on 2011?

The Ford Motor Company has partnered with Canada-based Magna International, one of the leading automotive component companies in the world, to develop an entirely electric car.

Ford's electric car will not be a hybrid - it won't use gasoline, but will be totally powered by a charged battery that is expected to achieve 100 miles per charge.

It's about time... do you have a direct link to any info on it?

Actually I found a link to an article about it, and it looks like Chevy has one as well...

Hi Stewart,

Interesting.

It is now the end of 2011.

There are a number of electric cars out. Nissan, Mitsubishi, Chev and Ford all have all electric cars ready to buy.

Phil - I too was curious to see what happened to the Ford Focus All-Electric car.

Apparently Ford is now "taking reservations" for the 2012 Ford Focus Electric car - but their website doesn't state when the cars will be delivered.
