"Judge Judy" on "Larry King Live" - Provocative and thought provoking

Judge Judy (Judy Sheindlin) is a wonderfully entertaining personality. More importantly, she has a brilliant and logical mind.

Judge Judy tells it like she sees it while explaining her logic and rationale - so I was interested to hear her opinion on a number of subjects put to her by CNN's Larry King.

AIG and bonuses: The justification for the millions of dollars paid out is bonuses is that the recipients had contracts. But surely their contracts were based on profits not losses. Judge Judy asks why civil servants, like employees of the DMV are forced to take days off without pay, in violation of their employment contracts while management is concerned about honoring AIG employee contracts. Remember, US Taxpayers now own 80% of AIG. Are shareholders being protected by management? Instead it appears to be aclear case of negligence and violation of fiduciary duty.

Bernard Madoff: The man has obviously got one of the biggest egos ever. Judge Judy said she was surprised he didn't commit suicide before being jailed. I wonder if he's on "suicide watch" while waiting final sentencing? His fraud has effected thousands of people and many institutions & charitites.

Proposition 8 & Same-Sex Marriage: She so succinctly stated that in the midst of all the serious problems facing States, what relevance does same sex marriage have? Why should States be concerned with responsible, productive, tax-paying citizens who simply want to build happy families? (and by families she referred to a family of two or more).

Rihanna and Chris Brown: This is not a case of domestic violence - but rather simply violence. Accordingly, Judge Judy believes he will become violent again and is therefore a threat - not only to Rihanna - but to the public at large.

Judge Judy's opinions (and rulings) make practical sense, and that's why I respect her.

Wonder if Judge Judy could be enticed to go into politics? We need some clear thinking in our leadership.

Hey Big Stew - I caught that segment as I was wrapping up a report.  She presented a very good perspective, especially the piece about Chris Brown and his girlfriend.  Even though the naysayers might have a fit.....she is correct (in my book)......how can it be domestic violence??????

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Judge Judy rocks my socks.  If she was a woman I would date her.  I expect she will run for public office within the next 5 years and win.
