LA Connection Property Blog: A peek into Candy Spelling's $150 Million Mansion - "The Manor"

A peek into Candy Spelling's $150 Million Mansion - "The Manor"

$150 Million is a huge price for a house, but then we're talking about the biggest home in Los Angeles - Candy Spelling's Holmby Hills Mansion that she and her late husband, TV mogul Aaron Spelling, completed in 1991 at a cost of $47 Million. The enormous house is over 56,000 large and has 123 rooms.

Take a peek into the house with the CBS News video.

As blogged about a month ago, Candy Spelling is downsizing to a 16,000 sq ft condo in Century City, for which she reportedly paid a record breaking $47 Million.

Imagine how many homeless families this place could house. Personally I think it's rather disgusting.

That's amazing. I drove past this house as it was being built when I used to live out there in BVH. Now, I finally got a peek inside. Love it!

Hi Stewart,

I've stayed in hotels smaller than this! BTW, I saw a story about her new downsizing digs, the condo she's moving to. Her closet in that place will be almost as big as my 2-story house.

Whatever one's thoughts about this house are, one must admit it's an awesome looking place.

I agree with you Ellie, it is a little disgusting when you think of so many homeless families and people doing without the necessities of life. I am not impressed with the house and her decorating taste is on the gawdy side.  One would think Mrs. Spelling could use some of her time and money to help the millions of people who are less fortunate than herself.   I wonder if she reads Active Rain. hehehe

It's definatelfy an awesome looking place.  I would hate to clean it.  Guess I won't complain now when my husband says we should get a bigger house.  HA

Crazy.  That's all I can find to say about it.  Did they REALLY need a house that big?

The house is amazing (obviously).  Candy doesn't seem all that bright though.  The reason that the house grew so large is because she can't read blue prints?  A whole wing was cut off of the house?

Interesting post - Never saw so much "stuff"...reminds me of the George Carlin routine  - what a display of conspicuous consumption. My husband used to deal craps at the old Desert Inn hotel to Mr. Spelling during the Dallas & Dynasty days- After 3 hours of play he occasionally would throw all 4 dealers a $5 chip and make a big deal of it....

An unbelievable house for sure.  I've played around with Microsoft Virtual Earth many times just to look at the incredible mansions in the Holmby Hills area where this is located.  If you click here, you can see an interactive aerial view of Candy Spelling's mansion.  The Playboy Mansion is right up the road...

Interesting to see how the other half lives, huh?  Amazing things in this world, guess it takes all kinds.  Just a shame about the riff with her daughter.

Kevin - 56,000 sq ft is enormous. But I suppose in the 80's when they started building the house it was all about conspicuous consumption and excessess.

Terrylynn - For whatever reason it seems like the late Aaron Spelling practically disinherited Tory.

I wouldn't mind having a piece of that comission!

Word has it that the master suite in her new condo is right around 4000 sq. feet. My house is a shack in comparison to her bedroom! Must be nice to be rich.

This mass exuberance by the Spellings is no different than our Royal Family's. The Spellings earned it, the Royal Family inherit it.
